Description
Cherry Smash was founded in 1901 by John E. Fowler of Richmond, Virginia.
He was the great-grandson of General Amos Fowler, once a member of George Washington’s staff during the American Revolution. This seemed to instill a sense of national pride that can be seen in artwork and slogans for Cherry Smash.
By the early 1920’s, Fowler’s Cherry Smash was found in every soda fountain and pharmacy up and down the east coast. Unfortunately, this product is not currently available.
